Mary Birch Hospital February 16-19th

I was at Mary Birch from Feb 16th-19th. We stayed long enough to make sure Lyra was okay to go home since she had a jaundice. It was a challenging few days being alone most of the time and learning to take care of a new born. My mother was on deck after delivery. I chose to only have Tony present during delivery since I was in so much pain prior to delivery because of a bad cough and the position of the baby.
We were joined by the Griffin, Grace, and Granddad in the temporary hospital digs (different from the delivery room). Later we had some friends visit which broke up the loneliness I felt much of the time while in the hospital. I was so happy when we finally got to bring Lyra home. Scared too because I was not sure how to keep such a small creature alive. My nurse at the time of delivery was truly amazing without her I would not have had any measure of calmness. If there is ever a next time I would hire a doula as my husband was no good at the whole coaching for hypnobirthing.
