Our Fifth Room

On November 20th, contractors began installing electricity into our fifth room.

The fifth room was simply a space that was added onto by the previous owner as extra storage space above the garage; with a door to the space on the second floor of the house. The floor did not extend end to end nor was good wood used for much of the flooring.

Contractors extended the floor with sturdy wood, closed off the room, replaced some of the piping to heating and cooling, added electricity, a closet, and more.

While the contractors allowed the room to dry they put lighting in the garage and fixed the lighting in the dinning room.
The dinning room light and light switch is truly a new home owners whopper of a story: Our dinner room light switch was not working. New light bulbs were put in the light fixture but still no light. The contractor took of the light switch plate and discover that it was simply put on the wall with NO electricity running, no wires, no holes. IT was all a façade. And the nice dinning room light over the huge farm table was held up with one bold, no holes, and no electricity hooked up. One earthquake could have easily brought that light fixture down. But alas it was just one of the many little expenses a new home owner must endure to have the home that meets our needs and wants.

When Tony is home he has had the extra space transformed into a fifth room. We are excited to have an extra space for guests, an alternative space for those nights the spouse snores loudly, and a man cave for my loving husband. Tony is super excited to have a place for ALL of his sports stuff. I am excited to have an extra sleeping space and more importantly that my husband is happy.

Mickey Mouse Red Wall as of the beginning of December. Waiting on flooring an room will be finished.
