We enjoy a fantastic rainy day at Disneyland. In the morning it rained on but or spirits did not dim because the rain subsided after lunch. We went on a good amount of rides for walking around with a toddler. The kids enjoyed one Star Wars show and Lyra got to play hot potato with Alice and the Mad Hatter. Very neat.

 

 

All about Lyra's Development

Every moment Lyra impresses her grandparents, father, siblings, or me. We call her a genus yet it's most likely just her reaching developmental milestones. I believe watching a child develop is the most fascinating aspect of life. They learn so "fast". Lyra's vocabulary is very developed. She can have a full conversation with anyone and this has been going on since she really started speaking sentences at age 2. She can recognize her first and last name and can reorder the letters in first her name to be in the correct order. Her big question these days is: "Where does (fill in the blank) come from?"
She loves to be the center of attention, to sing, dance, jump, paint, talking on the phone, and color. She has a great imagination. She asks us if we want to go to her purple mountains with horses and unicorns. Each a different color; purple, blue, etc. She invites us to take a plane there because ,"its far far away mommy".
She has amazed me recently drawing faces. I am not sure why I am so impressed but I am. Probably, because I can't draw? Or because she is such a wonder. Or more likely it goes back to the fact that it is just extraordinary to watch a child grow and learn. Here are some of her bathroom wall drawings; some of her first faces. All on her own while mommy was not looking.
