G & G ROCK N ROLL
Griffin and Grace had their first Rock N Roll performance today. The both did an amazing job. Grace sang beautifully. Griffin stayed calm and rock on with no mistakes. They were joined on stage with fellow performer, Dylan, on drums. There teacher played guitar as the other member on the band had a broken arm. We are so excited to have such talented kids. Can't wait for the next show!!!

Gracie's 11th Birthday Part 1 and 2
Part 1
The daughter who made her own birthday backwards shirt celebrated her 11th birthday with lots of attention at school. With family we celebrated at Boomers with same games and burgers. Afterwards ate cake #1 at home. More cake and gifts to be had on Saturday.
Part 2
After a wonderful performance we celebrated Gracie's birthday in the style she wanted at Corvette Dinner and then went back to the house to open gifts. She thanks everyone for her cool gifts.
Grace tried to put straws in Lyra's hair and I tried to capture the moment. It was tough.

Legoland Fall 2015
Great day to go to Legoland. A cool 90 plus degrees. As sweat pour from our necks down our backs we indulged in the kids desires of roller-coasters and lego fun. While Lyra played with mommy, daddy, and Nana, Griffin, and Grace road rides with Granddad in tow. After lunch at the Garden Cafe. We let the kids run wild in the water section of the park. Then dragging along we walk swiftly through the Sea life Aquarium. Fun was had by all especially since we received the tickets for free from one of my students parents.

Daddy and Lyra
Lyra grabbed this little hand knitted baseball figure from the closet as if she was snatching up a treasure. If I am not wrong, I believe it was made by Tony's grandmother Virginia. The baseball figure was in the closet because it has stain dirt all over. I did not want it more ruined. Now its in her play box. Tony is not sure why it is all dirty, go figure. Lyra also has a blue football player. The football player joins us when we read stories after bath time. He sounds a lot like mommy only with a deeper mommy voice. He likes to point to the words. Side note: Lyra likes when the octopus joins us for reading time best.
Tony and Lyra both saying, "MINE" |
Love their smiles in this pic |

Birch Aquarium
On Sunday we made a quick trip down to San Diego to visit the Birch Aquarium. This mini aquarium has grown through the years. It has even grown since I last took a professional development there sponsored by NOAA. This was Lyra and Tony's first visit. However, Griffin and Grace both had been there with me and once with their school.
I really had to extend Lyra's arm to reach the sea anemone. |
Lyra loved this water power exhibit. |
Griffin with his pouty pre-teen face. |
